📺 THE VAULT

The Vault celebrates 40 years since Bo Jackson won the 1985 Heisman Trophy.

🔼 Cherry On Top. Auburn kicker Alex McPherson has won the 24th annual Capital One Orange Bowl-FWAA Courage Award, becoming the first player from the SEC to earn the honor. McPherson overcame ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, losing 55 pounds, to return to the field and have a record-setting season for Auburn. The award recognizes courage on or off the field.

🔼 Strong Start. Auburn track & field’s Nickson Chebii broke the program record in the men’s 5000m at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, finishing 15th overall. He improved on his own record, which he set at the same meet last year. The Tigers will compete next at the UAB Blazer Invitational on Jan. 9.

🔼 Road Woes. The 20th-ranked men’s basketball team fell to No. 2 Arizona 97-68 on the road. Tahaad Pettiford scored a career-high 30 points, making five three-pointers. The Wildcats dominated the Tigers in the paint and shot 61.2% from the field.
