🔼 Knock Out. The Steven Pearl era began with a 95-90 overtime win over Bethune-Cookman! Kevin Overton grabbed two steals in the final minute of regulation and another in overtime, finishing the night with four total. He also added 13 points. Keyshawn Hall led the Tigers with 28 points, drawing 11 fouls. Auburn will return to the court on Thursday when it hosts Merrimack.

🔼 First Of Many. A new era also began for the women’s basketball team last night as new head coach Larry Vickers and the Tigers defeated Charlotte 71-58 on the road. Auburn used a 14-0 run in overtime to pull away for the win. Harissoum Coulibaly and Ja’Mia Harris led the Tigers with 19 points each. They’ll host their home opener on Saturday when Alabama State comes to town.

🔼  High Honors. Auburn cross country’s Nickson Chebii earned First Team All-SEC honors after finishing second in the men’s 8k at the 2025 SEC Cross Country Championships. Chebii’s season-best time of 23:11.57 marked the best finish by an Auburn male at the conference championships since 2014.

Second To Nun. Auburn University alumna Susan Nunnelly was honored with the Jack Meagher Award for her significant impact on society through sports. Nunnelly, who coached Auburn’s women's basketball and now works as a public address announcer, has been a key figure in the Auburn community. She supports women's sports and helps improve student life. Her dedication to Auburn is clear from her many roles and awards, like the Pamela Sheffield Award and being recognized as an SEC trailblazer.
