Johni Broome led the Tigers to a dub over Missouri at home on Saturday, which ties coach Bruce Pearl for most program wins.
Good Morning, Auburn Family. 2025 began the way 2024 ended, with Johni Broome leading the Tigers to an 84-68 win over Missouri Saturday in the SEC MBB opener at sold-out Neville Arena, one that tied head coach Bruce Pearl for the most wins in program history.
“Nobody enjoys winning more than me, nobody hates losing more than me, and when I win I get on to the next one,” said Pearl, who tied Joel Eaves (1949-63) with win No. 213 on the Plains.

🔼 A Solid Springboard Into the Season Auburn Gymnastics team kicked off the 2025 season at the American Gold Collegiate Classic quad meet Saturday, finishing second with a 195.950.
The Tiger lineup featured all four freshmen with newcomer Katelyn Jong competing in the all-around, finishing with a 39.175. All four contributed to the team score.
“There is a lot of room for improvement after tonight, but we also had a lot of bright spots as well.” - Jeff Graba, head coach
🔼 A Little Birdie Told Us. Auburn men’s golf sophomore Cayden Pope captured his first amateur tournament title Saturday, going 13-under-par to win the 99th annual New Year’s Invitational at St. Petersburg Country Club by six strokes.
Pope dominated the 90-man field with scorecards that consisted of a pair of 68s and a 67 in Saturday’s final. On the week, he matched five bogeys with 15 birdies and one eagle. In Saturday’s 18, he bogeyed just once, on 11, and picked up birdies on 2, 3, 13, 15 and 16 before sealing the win with one more on the 18th and final hole.

🔼 Some Harm, Some Foul. Audia Young scored a career-high 19 points, but Auburn battled foul trouble and a streaky LSU team as the home Tigers earned a 73-63 win Sunday afternoon at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
Leading scorer DeYona Gaston played just 16 minutes while dealing with foul trouble throughout, and LSU took advantage of a smaller, more inexperienced lineup to turn a first-quarter deficit into a double-digit lead they would never relinquish.
