Good Morning, Auburn Family. Delivering another player of the year performance, Johni Broome led No. 1 Auburn to an 87-74 win over LSU Wednesday at Maravich Center, securing the Tigers’ 12th consecutive victory.

Broome recorded with 12th double-double of the season, pouring in 20 of his 26 points in the second half to help Auburn improve to 7-0 in SEC play with its fourth conference road win.

With a mix of 19 returners, including preseason All-America catcher Ike Irish, and 21 newcomers – 12 members of the No. 3 freshman class and nine from the No. 4 transfer portal class – Auburn starts Thompson’s 10th season Feb. 14-16 hosting Holy Cross for opening weekend on the Plains.

🔼 The Tiger Trio to Watch. Auburn men’s golfers Josiah Gilbert, Jackson Koivun and Brendan Valdes have been named to the 35-player watch list for the 2025 Ben Hogan Award. Since 2002, the Ben Hogan Award annually honors the top men's NCAA Division I, II or III, NAIA or NJCAA college golfer based on all collegiate, amateur and professional events over the previous 12 months.

This year's watch list recognizes 35 golfers who represent 24 different universities. Auburn and Arizona State are the only institutions with three men highlighted.

The No. 3 Tigers get their first taste of spring competition next week, Feb. 6-8, at the Amer Ari Invitational hosted by Mauna Lani Golf Club in Waikoloa, Hawai’i.

A: “I'm really looking forward to the SEC and NCEA Nation championship. My favorite part of the fall season was seeing how our hard work pays off into our meets and building connections with my teammates.”

Q: How long have you been riding horses and what was the name of your first horse? 
A: “I have been riding for 14 years, and my first horse was named Hot Latte.”

In all, six Auburn players scored in double figures during the Feb. 2024 WBB win over Ole MissJaylin Williams (16), Johni Broome (15), Chad Baker-Mazara (15), Chaney Johnson (11), Denver Jones (11) and Tre Donaldson (10). It's the first time six Tigers scored in double figures in an SEC game since 2022 against Georgia.
