🔼 In Dramatic Fashion. Minutes after No. 9 Oregon State celebrated what it thought was a come-from-behind win, a video review removed a deduction that gave No. 12 Auburn a dramatic 197.025-196.975 victory Friday at Neville Arena.
Freshman Marissa Neal’s floor routine figured prominently in the meet’s outcome. Her 9.875 was initially dropped to a 9.775 after a neutral deduction reduced her score by a tenth. Auburn submitted a video inquiry, convinced Neal did not step out of bounds. After reviewing Neal’s routine, judges concurred, restoring her score to 9.875.
🔼 Onward and Upward. Men’s Tennis fell in a tight match to Illinois on Sunday morning during the consolation match of ITA Kickoff Weekend in Knoxville, Tennessee. Auburn claimed the doubles point before Illinois came back with four singles wins to claim the team victory.
Up next, the Tigers will travel to play Middle Tennessee State on Friday afternoon before returning home to play a doubleheader against Tulsa and Alabama State on Sunday at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.
🔼 Punching Tickets. No. 13 Women’s tennis defeated No. 11 USC in dramatic fashion by a 4-2 final score on Saturday at David X. Marks Tennis Stadium in Los Angeles. Freshman Alice Battesti provided the winning point for Auburn in the second dual match of her college career. With the win, Auburn has earned a bid to the ITA National Team Indoor Championship for the fourth consecutive season.

🔼 Senior Sendoff Went Swimmingly. Auburn Swimming and Diving delivered performances when it counted most, dialing up a pair of dual wins over rival Alabama on Friday inside James E. Martin Aquatics Center. Head coach Ryan Wochomurka’s Tigers earned a 177.5-122.5 win on the men’s side and a hard-fought 168-132 win on the women’s. The wins mark the fifth-straight victory over the Crimson Tide for the men and the second-straight triumph for the women.
🔼 Full Circle Moment. Former Auburn football staffer and Group of Four head coach Chad Lunsford has been named special teams coordinator at Auburn, head coach Hugh Freeze announced. Lunsford spent five seasons at Auburn from 2009-13 as director of player personnel and director of scouting before nine seasons at Georgia Southern, including three as head coach.
Most recently, Lunsford was an associate head coach at Florida Atlantic where he was the special teams coordinator and coached tight ends for three seasons. He joined FAU in February of 2022 and was elevated to associate head coach in January of 2023. This past season, he served as interim head coach during the final two games of the season.
