🔼 A Dozen Chances. Flip the Script. It's been the theme for head coach Hugh Freeze and this Auburn football team. It started back in the spring, and per Freeze in one of his messages to the team: “The way you flip the script is day by day.”

Each one of those days, each 24-hour period since the spring, has led to this. On Saturday, the Tigers will take the field for the first time this season against UMass.

"It's really about rewiring your mind and how you prepare for these 12 opportunities that we're given," Freeze said. "And it's something that has been done daily, that whatever is driving your beliefs are going to drive some type of behavior. And that behavior is going to create some habits and those habits will ultimately give us all our destiny.

“The more of those days that we stack—that we're doing things the right way, with the right attitude and the right passion—the more prepared we'll be.”

🔼 Home Sweet Home. After a pair of matches (and victories) in the Empire State this past weekend, Auburn soccer is making themselves right at home for a weeknight match against visiting Wake Forest.

It’ll be a battle between two undefeated squads looking to give the other their first notch in the loss column—but whereas the Tigers have gotten here with a fireworks on offense (multiple goals in three of their first four matches) and grit (two second-half goals led to a dramatic comeback win against Army) the Deacs have shut out opponents in three of their first four and are riding a 20-game unbeaten streak against non-conference opponents into the matchup.

🤔 TIGER TRIVIA

Two good. If you guessed that the number of the day today is two, give yourself a high-five. We’ve only got two days until kickoff and we’re full steam ahead with today’s trivia question.

There are two quarterbacks in Auburn football history who have passed for more than 3,000 yards in a single season.

Our question today—can you name them?

🐅 ONE BIG THING

Help is on the way. Former Auburn football star (and current New England Patriots defensive back) Jonathan Jones was presented with the 2023 New England Patriots Ron Burton Community Service Award at the Patriots Premiere on the field at Gillette Stadium.

He’s the 21st Patriots player to receive the annual award, which recognizes outstanding commitment in giving back to the community.

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: Jarrett Stidham (3,158 yards in 2017) and Dameyune Craig (3,277 yards in 1997)

Fun Fact: After four seasons with the Carolina Panthers, Dameyune Craig also played in NFL Europe with the Scottish Claymores, where he set a professional American football record by passing for 611 yards against the Frankfurt Galaxy on May 22, 1999. His jersey from that game still hangs in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

🐅 Have a great Thursday, y’all.
