Good Morning, Auburn Family. Auburn men's golf freshman Jackson Koivun has been chosen as one of 10 semifinalists for the 2024 Ben Hogan Award. Koivun and Arizona State's Wenyi Ding are the lone freshmen among the nominees.
 
Since 2002, this award has honored the top men's NCAA Division I, II, or III, NAIA, or NJCAA college golfer based on all collegiate, amateur, and professional events over the previous 12 months. The selection committee is comprised of more than 30 leaders in collegiate, amateur, and professional golf.

🔼  Anything But Amateur Hour. Auburn fifth-year senior Megan Schofill will tee it up in The Chevron Championship, which will be held on the Jack Nicklaus Signature Course from today through Sunday in The Woodlands, Texas. The tournament is the first of five major championships in women's golf this year.

Schofill, who earned an exemption into the field by winning the 2023 U.S. Women's Amateur in August, is one of six amateurs in the field at this year's event.

🔼 Fairway to Well Above Middling. Following a dominant showing at the Mossy Oak Collegiate, the Southeastern Conference awarded three members of the Auburn men's golf team with weekly honors. J.M. Butler and Brendan Valdes were named Co-Golfers of the Week, while Jackson Koivun earned Freshman of the Week.
 
The trio have won conference weekly honors a combined 16 times, led by Koivun with eight, all of which have come this season.

🔼 Game, Set, Match(es). No. 16 Women's tennis will begin its quest for the 2024 SEC Championship this week in Athens, Georgia. As the 5-seed, Auburn will start the tournament against the winner of Wednesday's match between 12-seed Kentucky and 13-seed Mississippi State on Thursday at 5 p.m. CT.
 
“I'm excited for it because this is what college tennis is all about,” said Auburn interim head coach Lester Cook. “I love when the stakes are high, and competition is tough."
