Bodda Getta Brew 9/22: All Aboard

Today, we've got College Station on the brain.

Good morning. If there’s a better way to start your morning than with a warm cup of coffee and a field-level view of one of Sydney Richards’ two goals in Auburn’s win over Missouri last night, we haven’t found it.

What else are we mixing into today’s Brew?

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 All Aboard! When Auburn faces Texas A&M tomorrow, the Tigers will be an underdog for the first time all season. And despite a 3-0 start, they will likely be an underdog in each of their next three games with Georgia and LSU on deck—but the underdog role is nothing new for this Auburn team.

“We are getting ready to play three teams that have, over the last four-to-five years, ranked in the top seven in recruiting," Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze said. "You are playing the best recruits in the nation. We are going to be there soon. That doesn't mean you can't compete. But there is a reason Texas A&M is ranked third in the nation on third-down defense.”

🔼 Pulling Ranks. Following a 10-1 non-conference slate, No. 24 Auburn volleyball hosts No. 3 Florida for the first top-25 matchup in Neville Arena history. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT, admission is free, and the doors open one hour before. For those unable to make it to the Plains, the match will be streamed live on the SEC Network+.

Leading the charge is sophomore outside hitter Akasha Anderson who picked up her 500th career kill in the team’s five-set victory over South Alabama. The Reston, Virginia native has accomplished the feat in just 37 matches.

🔼 Three Cheers. In a hard-fought, back-and-forth battle, the Tigers found the offensive spark they needed in their 3-2 victory over Missouri last night at the Auburn Soccer Complex. Leading the charge in the team’s first SEC win of the season was Sydney Richards who found the back of the net in minutes 33 and 68 to record her second brace of the season and the fourth of her career.

🏆 VICTORY FORMATION

On To Victory is the Official NIL Collective of the Auburn Tigers. On To Victory’s sole purpose is to provide expanded name, image and likeness opportunities for the hard-working players we so proudly cheer on the field.

As of today, we have 1,263 monthly members who help provide this crucial support—and we hope more of the Auburn Family will choose to support our student-athletes this year.

🤔 TIGER TRIVIA

Two good. Last year’s Auburn vs. Texas A&M matchup was a defensive slugfest with only 23 points, 13 punts, and four turnovers combined. But the Tigers left the field with a victory—largely because of this running back tandem that combined for 250 yards and just under 7.0 yards per carry.

Can you name those two running backs?

🐅 ONE BIG THING

And then there was one. If you want to see Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium this season, you’ve got just one game left with tickets available.

Fewer than 700 tickets remain for when New Mexico State comes to town, so grab your seats before they’re all accounted for.
