🔼 A Toast To Broadway. Auburn will be making its 47th bowl appearance all-time and third in the Music City Bowl. Auburn's history in the Music City Bowl includes two victories in 2003 and 2018 against Wisconsin (28-14) and Purdue (63-14), respectively.

"Nashville is a great destination, and the TransPerfect Music City Bowl is a great way to end our first season at Auburn,” Auburn first-year head coach Hugh Freeze said. “We have the best fans in college football and can't wait for the Auburn Family to travel to Nashville and take over Broadway. We are thrilled for our players to have another opportunity to compete against a very good Maryland opponent."

Auburn enters the bowl game with a 6-6 record under Freeze, who will coach in his second Music City Bowl, having coached Ole Miss to a win in Nashville in 2013. Maryland was 7-5 this season, including a 4-5 mark in conference play.

🔼 Honesty Sets the Tone. The Auburn women's basketball team held off a late UAB run for a 72-62 win on Sunday at Bartow Arena, with Honesty Scott-Grayson scoring a season-high 22 points.

Trailing by one after 10 minutes, the Tigers (6-2) went on a 14-2 run in the second quarter to open a double-digit lead, and UAB (6-2) would never get any closer than seven points the rest of the way.

"We played hard and imposed our will early," Auburn head coach Johnnie Harris said.

Scott-Grayson hit for double figures for the sixth time this season, scoring her game-high 22 points on 9-of-16 shooting. She was 3-of-4 at the free-throw line and made the only 3-pointer she attempted. Scott-Grayson also led the Tigers with four assists.

"Honesty was just special today," Harris said. "She was a tone-setter. I was trying to keep the ball in her hands. She got a little tired because she was guarding their quickest player. She was doing it not only on the offensive end but on defense, too.”

After a week off for final exams, the Tigers return to action next Sunday, Dec. 10, at Little Rock. Game time is 2 p.m. CT at the Jack Stephens Center.

🔼 Rolling Out the Dates. The Auburn gymnastics team announced the remaining portion of its 2024 schedule on Friday.

After hosting Kentucky and Florida, the Tigers will travel to Arkansas on Jan. 26. The team's lone away meet in February will be on Feb. 16 at LSU.

Auburn will kick off March on the road and will remain away from the Plains for the rest of the season. The Tigers will take on Georgia in Athens on March 1 before traveling to Baton Rouge for the Podium Challenge on March 8. The squad will face off with LSU, George Washington and Texas Woman's University at the Raising Cane's River Center.

The Tigers will cap the regular season at the Nashville Quad Meet on March 16, with opponents, times and locations TBD.

🐅 ONE BIG THING

Not Asking For a Friend. It’s safe to say that ESPN broadcaster John Schriffen had a memorable time at the Neville Arena last Wednesday as Auburn nabbed a commanding 74-57 victory over Virginia Tech in the inaugural ACC/SEC Challenge. It was the Tigers' fifth straight win and 48th consecutive non-conference home triumph. Schriffen took to Twitter to ask his bosses to send him back to the arena, saying, “This place is lit.”
